This was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed reading about Ivy Meadows & her antics as a new P.I & small town actress. She was funny and a very relatable character. I was a First Read Winner of this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the second book of the Ivy Meadows Mysteries and I really hope that there will be many more to come. I had a really hard time putting it down and read way passed my bedtime more than once. This was a lot of fun to read and quite an entertaining cozy murder mystery. Although the second book in the series, The Sound of Murder can be read as a stand alone. The adventures of Ivy Meadows aspiring actress/Private investigator was fantastic with a wide range of secondary characters that don't clutter the story but does add that wonderful extra something to the tale. I enjoy books where even though it's a mystery - it has a sense of humor, this one made me chuckle a couple of times -- main character seemed sort of scatter brained to me. I enjoyed the book enough that I did get the 2nd in the series already!Took me a long time to read because it's that hard cover paper back printed book and you really can't haul it around with you and or read in bed, but was good!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a lot of fun to read about Ivy and all of her antics. The mystery is quite good and the characters were funny and interesting. An all around great book.
