  • Romancing the Dustman’s Daughter is the newest release by Ruth J. Hartman. I really enjoyed this book and was unable to put it down until I reached the end. I finished it in just one day and am anxiously awaiting the next story by this author. This book was an enjoyable read with characters that I could relate to with as well as a smooth writing style, wonderful story line and plot.In this book we begin by getting a glimpse into the very sheltered and poor life of Anne and her scheming father. [...]

  • What a wonderful story! There is a surprising amount of detail in this book and I found myself relating to the characters very quickly. Poor Anne finds herself in a bad situation and thankfully the stars are on her side. Her gracious and kind soul pull her through to help herself and some others find true love. I even love her maid:). The only thing I would have loved more would have been for Constance to have found herself in an embarrassing situation, maybe in another story Ruth's stories get [...]

  • I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.Mr. Balfour wants the best for his daughter even if he goes about it terribly. Mr. Balfour is a Dustman which means he goes and cleans up peoples fireplaces and gets rid of all the ashes so it always looks pristine. One day he comes across something that was meant to be burnt but fell to the side of the fire and was just covered in soot. He sees that he can use this to his advantage…well his daughter’s advantage. When Anne come [...]

  • I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book will be featured on Genuine Jenn during my 12 Days of Christmas Book feature. This is a wonderful fairytale romance just in time for the holiday season. A budding romance comes together all because of a father's love for wanting to get rich. Anne's father came home one day with this elaborate scheme of blackmailing a client to take in his daughter and wed her to a rich man. Anne didn't want to go along with her father but [...]

  • Romancing the Dustman’s Daughter is a wonderful story that renews you faith in fairytales coming true. We all want to have a life with someone that loves us and takes care of us. Anne dreamt of this, but knew that it was probably not going to happen for her. She is the only daughter of a dustman and her mother has passed. Her father just wanted something better for her and for himself. He found something at the home of Lord Shrewsbury that he is convinced will achieve this for them. Anne’s f [...]

  • Another delightful Regency story from Ruth J. Hartman. This one’s a bit difference because of the blackmail involved and the fact that the heroine’s father is a such a dodgy character but the story is nevertheless an entertaining one. The characters are as interesting as ever, especially Augustus’ friend, the very inept Fritz, and his courtship of young Sally, encouraged by Anne is a joy. Constance is portrayed as such a vindictive schemer one wonders why Augustus ever fell for her in the [...]

  • A 5+ star read!! I was given an ARC of Romancing the Dustman's Daughter and I was so excited to start it. Once I started, I had a very hard time putting it down. Ruth J. Hartman is such a talented author, who is able to make you feel as if you are the main character and feel all of their emotions, thoughts and see everything from their prospective. I love how Ruth is able to write about love, serious situations and always able to make you laugh and giggle through out her stories. I absolutely lo [...]

  • Anne's father is a schemer and has a scheme of the century. But, Anne really doesn't want to be involved. She does help her papa as she loves him. So, will things workout or will someone let the cat out of the bag?Anne is taken in by the Shrewsburys’ to prevent the scandal. Anne's meeting with the seamstress was awkward and painful for me. I wish Anne never had to experience that. Her supposed cousin Constance is a piece of work. I am happy she broke things off with Mr. Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair [...]

  • Ruth Hartman’s newest romance takes her readers back to Merry Ole England where we meet Anne, who lives with her dreamer of a father in London and wonders if she will ever find love. When her father hatches a plan to find Anne a wealthy husband, she reluctantly goes along with his scheme, while hoping they won’t be arrested. After Augustus’ best friend steals the lovely Constance from him, he wonders if he will ever find love again. But when he meets sweet Anne, who just happens to be Cons [...]

  • This was my introduction to Ruth J. Hartman's work, and it certainly will not be my last! This was one of those novels that drew me in, and one that I definitely had a hard time putting down! Out of all the characters introduced to us in this novel, I think Anne was my favorite. She was so completely relate-able that sometimes felt that I was reading a novel about a woman that I could have been (had I been living in that time period). All of the characters are well developed, the story-line flow [...]

  • I am amazed and I shouldn't be at how well written Mrs. Hartman's books are. I wanted to read a good book tonight that would take me on an adventure and that is what I got! We start with Anne's Papa forming a plan to help them out of their financial dire. Anne goes along with the plan even though she is against it. She moves into her cousins house so that they can introduce her to wealthy suitors. Not sure what to expect Anne finds herself caught up with Mr. Augustus Sinclair, who has previous t [...]

  • A Fairy Tale come true! 4.5 starsI loved reading this sweet story of Augustus and Anne, two characters in Ruth J. Hartman’s second book ROMANCING THE DUSTMAN’S DAUGHTER. It’s a charming romantic love story, well written and a joy to read. Their story starts as we discover that Anne is the perfect daughter, always helping people and devoting her time and energy to others. She just wished that a special man would love her and treat her like a princess. Will she find love? Augustus, was sad a [...]

  • Romancing the dustman's daughter by Ruth J Hartman. Ms Anne is what one might call a push over for those she loves. Her father creates a scheme to become rich and it entitles her getting married to someone rich. Now that would be fine and all but then Augustus is not what everyone would think as a "marrying man" for a innocent women like Anne. All that changes when he falls for her and she trip for him. They both love each other but secrets threatened to ruin it all. Although there is heartache, [...]

  • A fun and genuine book. I like the authors writing style, it was smooth, easy to read and follow along. This book had struggle, deception, love and devotion - and that was just with the secondary characters! The main characters were fun and genuine and worked together on the page and in my heart! It's amazing the things we do for family and more importantly, this book is a huge reminder that people can see past the facade you wear, no matter how well you think you wear it.

  • I enjoyed a wonderful evening reading this book! This is a delightful tale, a Cinderella story of sorts. I did wonder how Anne learned to speak and walk like a lady, but the story itself was enough to make me enjoy the ride. Augustus was a yummy hero, and Constance was the ultimate villainess! Great holiday reading.

  • The story is sweat and heart warming with two people from different circles meeting each other and falling in love.

  • This is the first book of Ruth's that I have read and it was recommended to me by my sister. With that being said, she is very easy to read, her story line is really smooth and all of the characters are wonderful! It had a great story with some drama but not an overabundance of drama like there are in so many books. The characters were really sweet and I couldn't get enough of them. I loved this book, I have told others to read it and I will be buying all of her other books right away!
