There is one thing that you must remember if a member of your family tells you they are gay - it's not the end of the world. In fact it's the beginning. Discovering that a member of your family is gay, lesbian or bisexual is often very distressing, since it can be difficult to understand exactly what this means and how or why it affects you... more

'Coming out' is the term used when a person tells someone they are gay, lesbian or bisexual. This can be a nervous time for someone who is not fully out already (everyone who knows them, knows that he/she is gay). The more people that person tells, the more comfortable they are with telling more people (depending on previous reactions from people they have told previously)... more

Parents are themselves often afraid to 'come out' to others because they think they will be judged for it - but at our meetings they can talk about these fears safely and without fear. We meet monthly in Solihull Town Centre and anyone is welcome to join us. You can find out more about our meetings here or contact us for more information.
